Where do you store your family gold and jewellery?
Thieves want to steal your valuables from your home. If you have a large amount of family gold or jewellery in your home, consider following these steps to keep your valuables safe:
• Keep your windows, doors, and porches locked even when you are at home.
• Buy a fire-rated safe to store your jewellery, cash, and other valuable items. Be sure to bolt this to the floor or wall.
• Take photos of all jewellery and register them on the Secure Asset Register.
• Never hide cash or jewellery in your bedroom as this is the first place a burglar will look. Lock it away and keep it out of sight.
• Secure UPVC/composite doors by upgrading standard euro-cylinders to 3-star TS007 anti-snap locks. These offer maximum protection against forced entry.
• If you have a large amount of family gold or jewellery, you may want to consider using a safety deposit vault. Contact your insurance company should you opt for this, as it may impact on your current policy and premium |
